Linguists estimate that we may lose over 3500 languages by the end of this century due to multiple factors such as globalization, internationalism, and the growing domination of certain languages. A social enterprise called “Tribalingual” is trying to help solve this problem by offering short, easy lessons on minority languages which allow regular people to learn them in a fun and accessible way. The founders of this social enterprise say that losing language is more than simply losing a language; it is a loss of cultural heritage and a fast track to cultural homogeneity. By increasing awareness and interest in minority languages, this company is tackling the problem by maintaining linguistic diversity.
