The city of Dublin in Ireland is recently launching a new, special program that trains homeless people to be tour guides that are able to lead parties of tourists within city attractions and famous spots. Homelessness is becoming an issue in Dublin, with up to 10,000 homeless people. My Streets Ireland, a social enterprise responsible for this scheme, offers three months of professional training, aims to provide a previously-unseen insight into the lives of homeless people, and provides opportunities for them to fulfill their dreams. The guides will get 50 percent of the tickets sales while the other half will be used to invest further into the project. This program will not only help the homeless people to mitigate the effects of skyrocketing rents in Europe, but also give them a chance to acquire skills that will help them get back on their feet permanently.
